audio issues help?

if i say like 4 or 5 words my mic works properly and my friends can hear me but if i try speaking for more then 10 seconds my mic cuts out and stops picking up my voice and my friends keep asking me why i quit talking but in reality i keep talking but the mic doesn't pick up the sound?
