Audio questions for new tvs to old recievers

Hello,
Just bought a new samsung 60 inch. I have an old sony reciever with mainly RCA inputs. I tried splitting the mini audio out of the tv and into RCAs of the reciever. I am only getting sound out of one of my two channel speakers any ideas thanks

The mini audio out is 2 channel, left and right. You have a bad cable, or a broken connector, dirty switches in the receiver etc...
