I want a setup that I will be able to use with my PC and my new PS4. I will be gaming on both. Should I get a DAC and an amp or a receiver with that stuff built in? Also, why wouldn't a DAC give me surround sound for PC gaming? I'm really new to this stuff and am very confused. Thanks!

My budget is about $200-300. My room is an average size bedroom. That's all I know what to answer, Im very new to this.

thats quite a limited budget.

i'd suggest going with something like the z906 logitech 5.1

or if you want a receiver setup

something in 2.0 stereo.

if you could increase your budget.... (say $450-500) you could get something like the energytake 5.1 + a receiver of some sort

i personally use a receiver and 5.1 sound system... in case you care this is how i have things set up

I just want some better quality audio for my pc and gaming consoles. Is this stuff good for it? Also, should I look into getting a DAC?
