Without makes and model number we can't know what connections you have available.
The TV likely has optical audio out and HDMI-ARC out. Both need to be turned on in the TV menu. You may also have to turn the TV speakers off.
If your 5.1 doesn't work with either of these you will need an active optical to analog converter or an HDMI-ARC audio extractor.
