Audio switcher for use with HDTV?

I'm upgrading to an HDTV system. I have a DirecTV HDTivo and a Sharp Aquos
LC-37GD4U. I have built in wall speakers. I'd like to get some sort of a/v
switcher so I can switch between the DirecTV, a DVD player, radio and a
computer. All of the switchers that I've seen are analogue video only. Are
there any recommended audio video units that will switch between sources
that support HDTV?

Zektor has a possible solution. The HDS4 handles component video (+ audio).
If you have a mixture of video types, then things get more complicated as
you'll need additional devices to convert to a common video type. The
DirecTV Tivo and your DVD player probably have component video out, but your
computer may not. You may have to buy an VGA to component converter for the
computer's video output.

Note this Zektor model is an analogue video switcher, as component video
signals are indeed analogue. I'm assuming you've only seen "composite
video" switchers.

However, doesn't the Aquos have enough inputs to handle your switching needs
without having to buy another external switch?

The Zektor HDS4 isn't actually a video switcher at all, in a sense. It has
5 RCA plugs for each input, and although they are labeled/colored for
video applications, the actual switching doesn't care what is connected to
each plug because it does no processing to the signal, but merely uses a
relay to switch. Because of this, you can use it "in reverse" and connect
one source to up to four displays.

The digital audio switching is active, however, and will not work "in
reverse".

Because the switching does no processing, if you could figure out a way to
feed digital video through just 5 wires, the Zektor should work for this.
