I recently purchased a Panasonic SC-BTT196 home theater sound system. I received it today, hooked it up, everything running smooth so far. I do not really have anyone to go to with my questions and do not really trust in store customer support so here I am at toms :D

I would like to use these speakers to watch some tv, play my xbox / wii on, watch blu rays / 3D movies, FM radio / internet radio. I know that I will not be able to hook anything into the 3D blu ray player that came with the speaker system as it doesn't have any inputs.

So do I need to purchase a receiver in order to get the full potential out of this system? If so can you recommend me one around the 200 dollar price range? Thanks so much in advance :D

You need to use optical, HDMI or USB audio input, on the panasonic. There is no analog inputs.
You need to convert analog inputs to USB, optical or HDMI, etc...to plug them into the panasonic.
You can use a convertor selector type switch, or a receiver with optical, HDMI, USB outputs.

Use an A to D convertor, like this:

and an audio selector like this:

Alright, so what I got from this is: I should get a receiver. Am I wrong here lol...
What should I be looking for when purchasing a receiver for this system or a recommendation would be nice as well. Thanks.

I'm thinking an audio selector and an A to D convertor, see above.
A receiver may not have enough inputs for all your devices. So check carefully, how many inputs, and what format outputs?

Found this which looks like it may work. http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR313-5-1-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B0077V8930/ref=lh_ni_t However the sub woofer port is a jack and the sub woofer that i have is just bare speaker wire that requires the clip in the other speaker inputs have on that receiver. I don't know if that is a big issue or if there is another way i can use the woofer i have with just the bare speaker wire. Maybe this would help that - http://www.amazon.com/IEC-Speaker-Wire-Male-Cable/dp/B003U44LA8/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1354606981&sr=1-7&keywords=speaker+wire+pair
