So my girlfriend has this Compaq Presario CQ57 running Windows 7, and about a year ago it started making a loud and awful crackling/static noise whenever it starts up and then whenever she wants to listen to anything. Anybody have any idea how I'd fix this?
I'm a Mac user, and often make my own repairs so I'm not adverse to the idea of opening it up and replacing things, but I'm completely in the dark as to what the problem component could be.
