I just bought a HP 15-r208tx. I installed windows 10 and got the NVidia driver and all the direct X and other redistributables. Installed Magicka 2 and it runs at around 1fps. Then installed gothic 3 and its the same. I have an old desktop with a core 2 duo e4500, 3gb ram and a NVidia 9300gs and the games run smoothly on low settings. the laptop cant run it in the lowest. what I'm not sure of is whether its running the dedicated or integrated, even though I select the NVidia

NVidia GeForce 820m
4gigs ram

it's not a very good GPU on top of the fact its paired with DDR3 (very slow for GPU use). So i can't say i am surprised at it's poor performance. I am surprised though if a nvidia 9300gs is running the same games fine the 820m is not.

exactly... its not like I'm trying to max out witcher 3. gothic 3 came out in 2004. and if a 9300gs can run it smoothly I should get very smooth frames at atleast medium

I had the laptop replaced. With another of the exact same model and it works well. The guys at the shop were very vague about the reason. I spent four hours convincing the fellow that a laptop that has a VGA from 2013 should at least be able to run a game from 2004.One of the fellows said it might have been a manufacturing error.
