I have a Denon DRA_295 stereo receiver whcih has banana plug connections or wire. I want to connect a bose soundtouch 10 speaker which has a aux connection so I can play music from my record player or wirelessly. Any ideas on what is the right connection configuration to use?

Banana is for passive speakers (signal already amplified), 3.5mm/RCA are for Line level (un-amplified) signals, they are not directly compatible.

If the soundtouch has this kind of connector it means it's self-amplified, it can take the signal directly from the output of say a bluetooth receiver, you wouldn't need the Denon, that would be double amplification.

I am confused? I thought a 3.5mm was the same as an auxiilary connection, Is that correct?

If not then I need to be able to connect the spearkers to the connection shown in the picture So I can use my turntable. See the link below.

I have not seen a speaker cable with 1 male aux and 2 wires.

The speaker outputs are either wired or you can use the banana plug (not standard rca). The soundtouch has the capability of being connected as stereo speakers using the aux connection or as wireless speakers

Correct.

Where did you read you can hookup banana plug to aux? My first reply I said you can't.

Am so sorry, u obvious don't know what am talking about.

Attempted to look for the Denon manual, then I can show you but I can't find. So all I can do is, repeat what I replied last with a slightly different way, in fact telling you exactly how this should work:

DO NO hook up Denon Banana to Bose.

Do hookup Denon, look for a pairs of jacks labeled, LINE OUT, PRE-OUT, or REC OUT, then buy a cable like THIS.

Thanks

Try this link. https://usa.denon.com/us/downloads/manuals-and-downloads?_ga=1.99573854.1384860193.1483985496
Dra-295 is listed in the product list. Click on it and you can view the manual online.

Page 9 of the manual shows a picture of connecting a banana plug.

I do have 1 PRE OUT (RIGHT AND LEFT), No LINE OUT, No REC OUT

The bose soundtouch 10 accepts a 3.5mm cable plug. My understanding from bose is that each speaker needs to be connected to the receiver seperately.

I hope this helps
