Are you able to boot the laptop up in to windows, if not the blinking blue light I believe means it is in a sleep mode. Try removing battery and power lead then attempt a hard reset by holding down the power button for 30 seconds to a minutes longer if you wish.
If you are able to boot into windows then you may need to do the same as if its not in sleep mode the motherboard is not happy about something the above may just clear the problem or could be loose or dirty ram caused by dust buy a can of compressed air and clean the fans vents out and slots for the ram chips. Use a pencil rubber to clean the contacts on the ram chips.
I would make sure you discharge the static from your body first before handling any components.
