Battery not detected ASUS X55A

Hello my mothers motherboard recently went out. So I replaced it with a new one. When I booted it up for the first time it says the battery is not detected, and I have to have the charger connected to it for it to stay on. Any Ideas on what could be the problem?

EDIT: Everything on the Motherboard seems good. I unplugged the charger while the laptop was on and the it did not such down immediately. So I think the battery itself is faulty.

clean the battery terminals on both the battery and in the battery compartment with a dry cotton bud.
