battery not detected on laptop

I recently bought a laptop acer aspire 8930 it was recently updated to windows 7 by the buyer but I had it and the battery is sating it's not detected it's a genuine battery tried deleting battery and restarting it 'that way' but still battery not detected anyone know a fix

Try cleaning the battery contacts on the battery and in the battery compartment. Rub them with a cotton-bud.
