My phone almost wouldnt charge. And this is the third time it has happened. To make it worse my phone is not even a year yet. IM not sure whether to go to the shop for repair which would be much more expensive or just replace the battery? Is my phone unable to charge due the the hardware or battery?

Care to be a little more specific? From the sounds of it, this only happens from time to time, and other times it works perfectly. I am also assuming, from what you've said, that you have done nothing to try to fix this? More details would help. Maybe include what phone you're using.
