Battery Problem With My Samsung Laptop

Hello, my sister has a samsung laptop that has a problem with the battery, when the cable is plugged in the laptop it says that its charging But it will never realy charge and every time the cable is unplugged the laptop shuts off. Anyone knows how to fix it?

Its about 4-5 years old.
