Beats solo sound issue

I have a pair of solo beats hd, the center button on the cord is only allowing the background music unless I hold it down.. How can I fix this issue?

you have to reverse the way you plugged in the cord. The MIC should be closer to your face. I had the same problem this fixed it right away. They have directions on how to plug in the cord on the cord that I completely missed. I was about to return the headphones. Hope this helps others.
