Either/or. Both do pretty well the same stuff and they're free. Currently I use avg and malware bytes for good measure.

They both do okay. Really you get what you pay for and free AVs provide "decent" protection. I would go with Avast because it seems to do better with crypted malware. With free AVs it's really a matter of personal preference.
