place of purchase :www.newegg.com

What's your budget range?

Here are a couple of laptops I would recommend:

1) MSI GT780/783DXR : http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GT780DX-GT780DXR-.html (or just go with the 680, which is cheaper.. and since you are going to connect an external monitor anyway..

2) ASUS G74SX : http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Gaming_Powerhouse/G74SX/

You can also look at Alienware laptops but they are generally not recommended if you are looking for something close to portable and... I really don't like the aesthetics of Alienware :/

If you can hold off for another month or two, Ivy Bridge laptops are going to be released with Kepler GPUs from NVIDIA and the HD7000M series from AMD. Both GPUs are in the 28nm technology.. so lesser power consumption and lighter weights...

If you are a resident of the US, you may also want to look at Clevo/Sager laptops.. They are usually cheaper than their counterparts. I'm not really familiar with these laptops though...

go to sager.com and check out those laptops these are true gaming laptops and made only for gaming. Since your only using newegg iam assuming that your using paypal to pay for it. You can use paypal to pay for sager laptops but only if you purchase it through xoctic pc website which usually they give you a better deal for the sager than actual sager website

but i like alienware laptops only because of their look

:) To each his own, I guess... I personally don't like Alienware. It is very bulky and close to impossible when it comes to portability(not a desktop replacement at all). The 12 year old in me surely has a liking towards its design but now I've grown out of it :)

so just tell me a good gaming laptop from 800-1000$ providing a better battery backup because i will also use it for powerpoint presentation

sager NP6165 has 15.6 inch screen not 17inch screen i did that because its a bit cheaper and seems that it would make it easier for you to use this as a laptop for presentations this 17 inch laptops are big.
