Here's an Acer Aspire V3-574G laptop with a Core i7-5500u and a Nvidia 940m. According to the product description this comes with a 1080p screen and 12GB of RAM (pretty generous).

The system requirements for Stranded Deep and Rocket League are pretty low so you should not have any problems playing those games at 1080p with high settings; or at the very least medium settings to get good performance. The nVidia 940m is considered to be a mainstream GPU, not a gaming CPU. Most "hardcore gamers" would consider the GTX 1050 to be nVidia's weakest "gaming GPU".
The following is Rocket League being played on a similar laptop with an i5-6200u and nVidia 940mx. The 940mx is slightly more powerful than the 940m, but not by much so it should give you an idea of the 940m's performance.
