The Dell is a bit low on RAM and storage, but that's because of the screen, which is rather expensive. But if you work with 3D animation and graphical design, you're likely to appreciate it. And to keep the tally under $1,800 you'll have to compromise a bit.

That is not say that the ThinkPad's screen is bad, but the Dell's UltraSharp IGZO screen is widely praised by reviewers. The components used in both machines are almost identical (Xeon is available with the Dell, too), the difference really only lies with your choice of screen.

Hello, Parth:

The candidates submitted earlier are powerful workstations. I didn't want to confuse you with a bewildering array of gaming/non-gaming/productivity laptops - at least not from the beginning. BTW, these workstations will play serious games, too, but that would be a poor use of these sophisticated graphics engines.

For gaming in this price range, you can get GTX 1060 laptops for $1,400+, GTX 1070s for $1,700+ and GTX 1080s for $2,000+. Here's a list of some serious gaming rigs, as of November 11th this year:
http://www.ultrabookreview.com/10939-laptops-nvidia-1070-1080/

And this Amazon page lists a handful of ASUS ROGs with 1060s and 1070s:
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=asus+gl502vs&linkCode=ll2&tag=iamreader-20&linkId=1e252bf12572c52024d40c70f8eab2f7

It is very difficult to compare workstation GPUs with gaming GPUs - and also a bit unfair to both types. Almost like apples and oranges.

Cheers,
GreyCatz.
