Yep, a Budget would be helpful. If you have the money....oh man you could get a banging laptop for 3d design and architecture

3D CAD will need to be a workhorse - I like Dell's Precision M6600. The Quadro graphics card options are great and it supports Desktop-grade processors, multiple hard drives and up to 32GB of RAM. Not inexpensive (especially if you use the RGB monitor), but very high quality

Architectural line drawings don't need that much jam.
