I'm looking for a laptop that is good for gaming, long battery, small in size, lightweight, and powerful. I know it's a lot to ask for that can game but any help is appreciated!!!

Solution
ASUS K501UW-AB78 for $950.
- Intel Core i7-6500U
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
- 1080p screen
- 8GB RAM
- 512GB SSD
- 4.4lbs

You can actually buy a laptop with a GTX 1050 or maybe even a GTX 1050 Ti for $950 if there is a good sale for the 4th of July in the US. However, they will not be 4.4lbs instead they will likely be in about 5.5lbs. So you are basically giving up a bit of performance for portability. According to one of the user reviews, the Asus can last about 5 hours of video playback and 6 hours of continuous wifi internet surfing.

Don't think what you're looking for exists. Wait a few years for the next battery revolution.

For now what you're looking for isn't going to have good battery life and weight/size.

A 940MX is going to struggle in most games at 1080p even on low settings. Even at lower resolutions you will find you have to turn it down a notch to get acceptable framerates.

With that laptop they're going to get bad battery life.

Battery life varies by laptop model and the capacity of the battery itself. I can get about 6 to 7 hours of "average usage" battery life with my Dell Inspiron 15 7559 with a quad core i5-6300HQ, GTX 960, 16GB of RAM, 1080p screen, 256GB SSD and 1TB 5400RPM hard drive.

As I have already state, user reviews state pretty decent battery life for the laptop I recommended with about 5 hours of watching videos (netflix / hulu). Or about 6 of continuous wifi internet surfing. Using the laptop to take notes in class should use less power than either of those activities.
