Best laptop for my needs

Hello,
I'm looking for the perfect laptop for my needs, I need it for programming in java, photo and video editing, some google sketch up, minecraft, among other everyday activities. I would like to keep my budget at >1000. The reason I don't just build a desktop is because I need something that can travel with me an always be ready!!

Look at the Lenovo Y510p. For ~1000, you can get quad core i7 Haswell, GeForce 755m GDDR5, 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM and a 1080p screen. One thing to keep in mind is that it has inferior battery life at ~2 hours.

I have a Y500, it's easily the best laptop I've ever had. Yeah the battery life isn't great but everything else about it is, for the specs and the price you really can't beat it, especially when you compare it to equivalent laptops from Toshiba, Acer/Gateway, Asus, etc.
