I currently have the Logitech G930. I have had it for about 1 year now and i have never really been pleased with it for various reasons. The two biggest reasons are
1: They are really huge, heavy and look wierd on my small head.
2: The sound quality is not worth 120 dollars. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but i know that this was a ripoff!
Since i mostly do gaming with my friends and occasionally listen to music i started looking for a good gaming headphone that wasn't huge and that had good sound quality. I soon found out that the better way to go was to buy a pair of good quality headphones from a "real" sound company (sennheiser, audiotechnica...), buy a soundcard (for virtual 7.1 surround) and buy a dektop microphone.
After endless hours of reading on more than 10 different forums where everybody wrote differently and where i almost went crazy, I started looking for myself and came up with a plan. This is where the real question gets asked. Is this a good setup?
Setup:
Headset: sennheiser HD558
Microphone: samson C01U
Soundcard: Asus xonar DSX
The most important part of the setup is that it has to work for gaming (kind of picking out enemy locations from sound and so on)
I know that this question probably has been asked a thousand times (if thats the case, im the worst googler ever)
Sorry for my English if it bothers anybody (i'm not a native english speaker)
