Best Open/Semi-Open Headphone Under £50

if you did not mind using a closed design, the creative aurvana live (original not the v2) cans score well on "audio quality" and have a following.

again, if you did not mind a more noise isolating design or them being in-ear the soundmagic e30 are pretty good for the price.

the hd428 is a closed design as well but is decent for the price.

the hd660 also gets some good reviews (it can handle more volume than the CALs can)

now as for some open headphones?

there is the akg k99 but without an amp they will sound rather thin and bass-less. http://www.head-fi.org/products/akg-k99-headphones

the k121 are questionable but after burn in may be okay. http://www.head-fi.org/t/672130/akg-k121-headphonereview

the superlux 330 is fairly bassy for an open design but needs burn in http://www.head-fi.org/t/684424/superlux-hd-330-experiences-and-discussion

some of the best sounding headphones for your budget are going to be closed designs. if you need an open design you might not get the sound quality you could out of a set of closed cans for the same price.
