Best OVERALL laptop for price

I was looking at the $1,299 Macbook pro laptop. But I am not a HUGE fan of Mac OS, I am wanting to find the best computer for around the 1,000-1,300 dollar price range. overall meaning the best cpu, best everything for that price... I guess I am just wanting something equivalent or BETTER than that Macbook.. If there isnt anything better I will just get the Macbook... I would prefer a computer that is Windows 7 or 10 NOT Windows 8... Thank you

Personally I would call this one of the best prices for the buck. gtx 960m 4gb, good for external display with those 4gbs, can game on it. SSD for os and programs along with the newest 6700hq and 16gb of DDR4 and 7200rpm HDD, not to mention the 3.1 type-c usb. 17.3 inch beast packing heat for that much.
