Question Best way to connect 3 external displays to Asus ROG GU501 laptop

I want to replace my desktop setup with my Asus GU501 laptop with a GTX 1060 (6GB) GPU. I use 3 monitors. I'd like to know what's the best way to to connect the 3 monitors to the laptop. I won't be using the laptop's display. The most demanding software I use is Davinci Resolve for video editing. I run that on the largest monitor. The laptop has one full sized HDMI port, one thunderbolt 3 port and four USB 3.0 ports. Should I use the HDMI port for the largest display and USB 3.0 to HDMI adapters for the other 2 monitors? Maybe a 3-way HDMI splitter ? I don't know how this works... does the HDMI port make better use of the GPU than USB-HDMI or thunderbolt-HDMI converters?
