Best way to set up lots of speakers to a system...

So I have a AV receiver with 3 inputs: TV, Aux/ipod) and dj station (two turntables connected to a CD/mixer combo.) I have a surround sound speaker setup attached on "A" line and a four channel speaker selector on "B." Two of those lines are used for a built in speaker system, and send sound to the dining room and kitchen speakers respectively, and the other two lines are used in the living room (where the DJ set up is). So when I play music, especially the turntables, the surround sound speakers are so much louder than the other four sets of speakers so that if I want to get a nice volume on those, I have to turn the surround sound "A" line off.

I'm thinking that if I add another receiver to the whole set-up...hook the DJ setup to that, that would somehow help me get better sound. Any ideas?

Can't give you a detailed answer without the make and model number of the receiver.
The A and B speaker terminals are front output only so the speakers connected to these terminals are stereo front when the receiver is set to surround modes. The receiver should be set to stereo (or multi channel stereo) when used in two rooms.
You are right that a separate amplifier for the living room speakers would make sense. There are a few ways to connect it but so long as it has a volume control on it you can adjust the living room speakers by themselves.
