Beyers AMP needed?

I got the beyerdynamics 880 pros with an antlion modmic 5. I am considering using these for moderate gaming and music. I usually dont listen at high volumes and I am going to just plug in and listen (phone and desktop). I dont have much experience with open backs as this is my 1st pair of them. Would I need a amp to meet these requirments? (On my desktop I usually go on about 20's max and about midway as max for my headphones.

Try them but be careful to creep up on the max volume you use. Loud passages could cause clipping distortion that can damage the headphones.
They should sound better with an amp even if you don't go very loud.
