Bios password acer travelmate

Hello,
I have travelmate 254 and have I think manufacturer pasword on BIOS.When I turn on and after show logo,press F2.On screen I see "pasword . . . . . ".I need possibility to remowe pasword,to reinstal OS

I try but pasword is icorect.

Acer have always been a bit dodgy with bios passwords, try a bios update.

Will the system boot to the OS you have installed now or does it wait for a password to be entered before continuing to the boot process? If it will boot properly, you may be able to apply a BIOS update (even re-applying the cirrent version if it is the most recent) MAY (or MAY NOT) help. You won't know until you try. Good luck!
