My ESET subscription is close to expiring, so I'm evaluating the current state of antivirus programs.
Bit Defender appears highly regarded. I installed the paid basic version (which is all that I want or need) a year or two back, and found that the program plagued me with chronic upsell messages -- to the point that I took advantage of the money-back offer and opted for another program.
Does anyone know if this is still the case? I'd rather not know that an antivirus program is installed, unless it's protecting me from an active threat.
