When the display is turned off after X minutes of inactivity (through Power & sleep settings), the display stays black, despite pressing any key combination, and a hard reset of the HP Laptop is necessary.
The interesting thing is that the Laptop does revive from a manually induced sleep mode (through selecting the Sleep command in the shutdown menu, pressing the power button for a second, or closing the laptop's lid). So, the issue seems to be specifically linked to the time-triggered switching off of the display iRoot APK Gratis.
The issue also occurs when setting equal time-outs for display switch off and Laptop sleep in the Power&sleep settings. And the issue occurs with hibernation switched on or off.
The display drivers are up to date. A system scan (sfc) and image health restore (dism) didn't solve the issue. The event log doesn't show any obvious related errors.
