Question black screen when switching to gpu

Brand new Lenovo legion slim 7. Realized when I was playing games with my friends the NVidia control panel kept popping up and saying applications blocking display mode change and it was showing YourPhoneAppProxy.exe I tried disabling it and the pc didn't seem to like that too much either so I factory reset it. Phone link error isn't popping up now but when I go to the NVidia control panel and try to switch to NVidia gpu only the screen goes black. brightness up button doesn't help either. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

turns out it was lenovo vantage over riding the nvidia controller.
