black screen with power and mouse

Aspire R14 by Acer, just went into a black screen but power and mouse are active. I've tried power cycling in all manor. Any ideas On how to fix?

Well, this seems to be a hard drive failure. It could be a hard drive failure, depending if you dropped it; so it doesn't necessarily mean that it is a hard drive failure. This also happened to me. The only way to fix that is by getting a new hard drive.
