Blue Ray, to tv, through VHS player?

I have an old tv that only as an in port for a cable that is connected to my VHS/DVD player. I was wondering if i could connect my Blue Ray player to my tv through my VHS/DVD player? I have a cable that plug into my out put HDMI on the black of my Blue Ray, and 3 RCA cable plugged into to the input of my VHS/DVD player.

Exactly what connections are available on all devices? VCRs do have a pass-through video option but you need to list exactly what type of connections are have that can be used on all the devices. HDMI, Component, Composite, Coax, etc...

You can convert the HDMI output of your BD player with one of these

and connect it to your VCR. The picture quality will however will be degraded (no way to avoid it).
You might keep an eye out for a used flat screen TV on craigslist. I have seen some for $100 or so.
