Blue ray with Hdmi to component tv conection issue

I have a lg blue ray player that I am trying to connect to an older magnavox hd tv. The player only has hdmi output, I bought an hdmi to component cord. I don't show any video input, is there a solution to this?

the Bluray player requires a HDCP capable HDMI device when connected thru HDMI. This indicate that the device is digital copy protection aware. Chances are the the adapter does not support this signalling even though you are not viewing the content in digital format.

You cannot use just a cord to convert from HDMI (which is digital video and audio) to component video and stereo audio (both analog). You need an active converter box like this
