Blue Screen of Death

Hey .
After instaling fresh windows 7 on my ASUS X540SA i get this when the Windows logo appears on start up :

stop: 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005 ,0x0000000000000000 ,0xfffff880009a8e58 , 0xfffff880009a86b0)

I cant boot up to Windows no matter how many times i try ,cant start recovery and i cant even reinstall Window because every time the logo appears i get the blue screen .The only thing that i did was to restore the BIOS settings do default .I searched for an hour but didnt find anyone with the exact same problem .I just hope its not a faulty hard drive.
Hope you guys can help .

0x0000007e code might be bad hard drive. Boot from your Windows 7 installation dvd and when first screen it has install Windows and below repair your Computer. Press repair your Computer. choose your operating system, next, then there shoulkd be screen recovery tool. select CMD / command prompt.

When it opens type this in there : chkdsk /f /r

Press enter

Thank you for the reply ,but i cant even get to the first screen .The laptop goes through the "Windows is loading files" screen ,then the Windows logo appers and it just reboots.

Are you sure you are booting from the installation disc? When it boots go straight to bios and set boot order from there to DVD. Then save and restart

Yes ,i am booting from the USB stick that i used to install the OS.

Are you sure its legit OS installation USB? Sometimes its corrupt if you did something wrong making it?

Try to remove HDD and boot from Installation USB, if it boots from USB then your HDD is is shorted or something.
