Blue screen when playing demanding games

Hello, i'v had this big problem for over year now and i'v tried to fix it on my own but it didn't work.
Every time i play really demanding games EX: Skyrim after like an hour or so, my screen goes all black but my sound is still repeating the last sound it made, if i shot a bullet in a game and the screen goes black the bullet firing sound will repeat forever and ever. This is extremely annoying and i have to restart the computer manually each time. i think it might be a problem with my power supply or my sound on my motherboard. Please help and ask for further information if you need it! Sometimes a little box pops up telling that the error is a bluescreen but that only happens if the computer restarts on its own which it occasionally does.

you will need to give us some more information about your PC.

Full specification, operating system etc.

From first impression though I think you have problems with some of your components overheating.
Download HWinfo http/www.hwinfo.com/download.php , install it and run it with a thick on the sensors only.

Play a game for 10 minutes or so with the HWinfo running in the background, then Alt+Tab out of the game and open up the HWinfo window. Take a screen shot on your CPU and GPU temperatures and upload the screenshot/s here http/tinypic.com/ and then post with the link to it so we can take a look.

We will then be able to determine if the problem you are having is related to some overheating issues and could suggest you a solution.

Alright i have done all that, here are my full pc specifications.
Operating system: Windows 7 home premium
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 830 quad core at 2.8 ghz
GPU: XFX amd radeon HD 7790
RAM: 6gb
Motherboard:FOXCONN 2AA9
Thats pretty much it i think. I have one last thing to say, i think my son has overclocked my graphics card which i know nothing about but with GPU-Z i can see that the temperatures of my gpu aren't going above 55 degrees celcius.

If you have an overclocked component, set it to default. Using the system with the way it is now with crashes like yours can damage the hardware permanently.

If going to default setitngs does not help, run the system with the case open and a fan blowing on the video card (not super fast, just enough to give it more airflow). If that runs OK, you can look for an aftermarket cooler or look at another case fan or maybe a better case for cooling. If the system crashes even with good cooling, the card needs to be replaced.

sorry for the delayed response. I usually only post on the forums while at work.

To be honest all your temps look fine. This leads me to think it could possibly be related to your GPU drivers.

As you mentioned a possible overclock of the GPU it might be a good idea to restore the setting to default. If you are not sure how to do it just remove any software related to your graphics card and also use a Driver Sweeper to remove the GPU drivers. Then go to AMD's website and download and install the latest drivers.
