Question Bluetooth functionality on my Acer Aspire laptop

The Bluetooth functionality on my laptop has disappeared. I have tried all the recommended fixes I could find online, no joy. It is an Acer Aspire. The headphones I am trying to connect by Bluetooth, I tried them with my smartphone, no issues. The laptop doesn't have a bluetooth on/off switch but up till now the bluetooth functionality has worked fine. Has anyone any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

Does Windows still detect the bluetooth adapter? Also, have you looked in your BIOS to see if the BT adapter is disabled?

Thanks COLGeek. Well I did the 'scan for changes' thing on Device Manager which seems to have fixed it. I tried entering the BIOS but it asks for a password which I don't know. It's not the standard Windows password apparently.
