Bluray player says no input

Hello!

I just bought a new monitor, an Acer 27" LED XF270HUA Freesync. I also bought an old bluray player, Phillips BD3000. When I connected them with a regular hdmi cable, my monitor says"no input". When my computer is turned off my monitor occasionally says "input not supported" before saying "no input" again. I really have no idea why my bluray player won't work. Please help!

Since you said its older its possibly set to the wrong settings? I don't see a way to reset it without getting it to work. Perhaps you can connect it to a TV thru the other connections and check the settings.
