Boot device not found.

I have hp probook 4540s laptop, I was installing kali Linux 2.0, It was not installing so I pressed the power button. After starting the laptop it shows ' this product is covered by one or more of the following patent........
After that a new window open up it says' boot device not found'

My os was windows 10 pro


So what can I do?? Please help me, thank in advance!

Were you installing Kali from a CD or a USB stick? Look in BIOS to make sure that device hasn't taken over the top option in the Boot Order section. You need it to be HDD 0 (zero) for Windows top show up.

I was installing from usb stick, and turned off in between installation process by power button. I also tried installing windows again...
But same result... BIOS settings are fine. Please help

I was using usb stick, Boot Order section is hdd at the top...

What happens when you set BIOS to boot from USB then pop the Kali stick in? Do you have another flavour of Linux on a stick or CD that can run in Live mode?

It could be that Windows 10 has been partly overwritten but if USB can still boot the system, there's at least life in the laptop.

Why did you feel the need to restart during the Kali installation by turning off the power?
