I have been trying to install some memory on two Dell Precision m6500s that I bought on Ebay.

I have been running into something I've not seen before. After installing appropriate SODIMMS in the proper slots, when I try to boot. the post starts normally, goes through the memory test, and then comes up with an error message;

"The amount on memory has changed... If you did not change the memory, try reseating the modules. "

usually, when you get this message, it's followed by Press F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup."

But in this case, this never shows up, and the computer won't do anything.

I am truly stuck, HAs anyone else seen this??? Ideas about how to deal with this???

Thanks
