Hi I recently got Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker system. I now have to get a suitable receiver to hook it up with my 46" Sony Bravia HD TV.

Now I need to know, is there any way I can get a single A/V receiver-cum- DVD player?

The most recent Bose website suggestion is to get an Onykyo TX-NR626 - a 7.2 channel receiver without DVD player. Is it necessary? Can I not go for a 5.1 channel receiver?

Any advice is welcome

really, any 5.1 channel A/V receiver will work, and if it has a DVD player, you are good to go. I think that would be a very limited system. I would recommend separate components, for maximum flexibility. Also, if something goes wrong on one of them, then your whole system won't be down.

thanks! I shall get a 5.1 channel receiver - its way cheaper than the 7.2 channel - same brand - I hope the cost doesn't mean any kind of compromise on quality?
