Brand new Acer Aspire E15

Just switched on new E15. Asking me to sign in with email but when I hold down shift key to get @ sign it types " instead. HELP! PLease

It looks like the Input Language for the keyboard is mis-configured. This link shows how you can change it to your preferred one.

If the above doesn't work, the chances are that the Fn key on your keyboard is permanently enabled. In many laptops you can disable it by pressing the Fn + NumLock keys together. If this is not the correct combination for your computer, you may need to refer to the User's Manual of your laptop.
