broken mouse pad

My toshiba laptop mouse doesnt wirk I have triend ctrl f5 and f12 but it doesn't work but when I log on it wirks the mouse then freezes after a few seconds also wheb ny laptop is locked before I log in it works perfectly fine it started when my brother was messing around I need ti do my school work I am doing GCSE which us really important

Try using an external mouse and rolling the system back.
