I have very little knowledge / experience / understanding of audio tech and how it all works, however I love nice sounding music as much as anyone. I am looking to get a set of speakers for my not-very-large bedroom (~3 x 2.5m), but I am on a tight budget.

I have an old home theater - Panasonic SA-HT335 - that is connected to my PC as a 2.1 system but it sounds like crap, to be frank. Highs are barely hearable and lows aren't punchy at all. I've been thinking, that maybe an amplifier would spring some new life in those speakers, however I don't want to lose bass, so...

Would an amp (if so, what kind) give me a better sound and allow me to connect 2 speakers and a sub?
If not, would a sub 100$ PC speaker system, something like Logitech Z523, give me a nicer sound?
If not, what set of speakers and (if) an amp would you recommend at around 100$?

Thank you in advance for any replies!
