1. What is your budget?

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15"-17" but preferably a 15" screen

3. What screen resolution do you want?
its a big ask but I could really do with a 1080p screen but if everything else is great i could probably cope with 720p'

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
I'm not too fussy about weight but I will be carrying it around.

5. How much battery life do you need?
battery life isn't really relevant anything over 2 hours, which is easy

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
League of legends high settings and skyrim medium settings

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
gaming is the most intensive thing I will be doing other than that just web browsing and a bit of coding

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
I could cope with 500Gb but 750 upwards would be nice

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
being in the uk its a bit limited
ebuyer:
http://www.ebuyer.com/
dabs:
http://www.dabs.com/

and amazon if there are any good deals

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
for at least 2-3 years I hope

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
anything goes

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I would prefer asus and lenovo as I quite like their design and I have friends who have owned them and the build quality seems pretty solid. the only brands I would avoid really is hp and dell ,because I have owned them previously and the products have usually been pretty shoddy.

13. What country do you live in?
scotland/uk

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
I have looked at pc specialist laptops and the spec has been really good for price but does anybody know how their build quality is?
Also I imagine some would guess but I'd be looking for an i7 laptop with dedicated graphics.

Thanks in advance :D :D

I saw this the other day on ukhotdeals, the brand doesn't have a great reputation but the spec is great for the current price £809 https://www.medion.com/gb/prod/MEDION+ERAZER+X6823+Laptop+%28MD98254%29/30014987A1

hey sizzling , the laptop pretty much meets all my criteria but unfortunately I have read up on medion's stuff before and the build quality can be pretty dodgy so thats another one I probably should have put in my brand avoid category . thanks for the suggestion though :)
