Business Laptop - $1200-$1500 CDN

Dec 26, 2014
Hi everyone,

Ive been researching the crap out of laptops the last few days and feel like I have a firm grasp on what Im looking for now. The machine will be used for work exclusively - no gaming or crazy rendering. Email, browsing, google docs and some light photoshop work will be the bulk of the work done on this machine. The reason Im looking for advice is that I'd prefer a machine with as little bloatware and as much battery life as possible - what's out there?

Ive had ASUS laptops in the past which were okay but still seemed to come with a bunch of unneeded software and battery life was lacking.

Here's the Wishlist:
14"+ screen
2 Display ports - would like to run 2 additional monitors
8 hours + battery
Skylake CPU?
Very little bloatware
Around $1,500

Thoughts? Am I dreaming?

Let me know!

This would recommend you to look for Dell XPS 15. The configuration above offers you everything you need.
15'6 inch packed in 13 inch laptop body, very thin, light weight, decent battery life, business style.
6th Generation Intel Skylake Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core (6M Cache, up to 3.5 GHz) will be powerful enough for years
NVIDIA® GeForce GTX 960M with 2GB GDDR5 (extra option for multi monitor without shuttering, 4k movie guarantee!)
8GB (2x4GB) 2133Mhz DDR4 Memory (enough imo)
256GB PCIe Solid State Drive (acceptable!)
Free Adapter, USB Type C to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB and Dell Wireless mouse 8/4/16

This model comes with 1080p screen which I prefer than 4K screen one because of scalling problem.

This link confirmed that multiple monitor worked on this laptop.

For bloatwares, you can perform Clean Install Windows 10 once you get the laptop (30mins to 1 hours)

Something I did not know about - Laptop Docking Stations.

Looking at the Lenovo Thinkpad T460P w/ docking station - gives me everything Im after except I need to spend an extra $300 bucks on the docking station.
