Solved! Buying a laptop for school

May 12, 2017
I know all these laptops are overpowered for just school, however, I want something nice to last me for a while. I would like opinions on which computer I should get. I will say I am wanting a light and nice looking laptop. I like the internal specs of the Spectre in the first link, but not the color. For the Spectre in the second link, it is the opposite. The Asus Zenbook has nice internal features, but I do not like the external body of the computer and it weighs a bit more than the Spectres. For the Lenovo, I like the internal parts of the computer, the body of the computer is nice, however, the computer is bulky compared to the Spectres and Asus. The computer's weight isn't distributed evenly causing it to be heavy on one side. If all of you could just leave me some feedback that would be nice. Thank you.

Woah, woah, woah. You don’t need an i7 and 8/16 GB RAM for school work, that’s a bit like buying a Lamborghini just to drive to the shops at the bottom of the road.

Something like a Core 2 Duo and 2 GB RAM would work fine. The Dell Latitude and IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are pretty good (unless you wanted to do something like play AAA titles or do intensive video editing or something). They are solid machines built for durability and longevity.

Check out some second hand laptops on eBay, and watch some reviews on YouTube and see what you think.

Here are some videos you may like.

i think you should go with the best design you like because these laptops is far from enough for daily use school laptop and you will use your laptop frequently so i think the right design will make you fell better :)

For this price for a thin and light I’d really start looking at a Mac. You can even dualboot it into Windows and have the best of both worlds.

Plus you won’t need a mouse :)
