Apologies if this is the wrong section to post in but I need assistance. A family member is going to Miama next week and I found a laptop I like http://store.hp.com/us/en/PDPStdView?catalogId=10051&urlLangId=-1&langId=-1&productId=1315154&storeId=10151

Cheapest in Uk is £700 ($915 ) with student discount or £800 ($1046) without it. I like the design, no dvd tray and USB C. Its cheaper in US site, seen it $730 yesterday as a one day special but now its $750 which is still cheaper than UK.

1. Would HP deliver to hotel address?
2. Or do other online retailers sell this model?
3. Is there a similar specced laptop with i7, USB C and 15.6" and similar price?

What will you be using the laptop for? If its just for checking email browsing the web and other light tasks its a bit much, you would never make use of that i7 for example.

1) Well it would be UPS, FedEx, or USPS that delivers it. And yes im sure they will deliver to a hotel, just make sure the hotel is aware you are expecting a package, they may hold it in the lobby.

2) Yes im sure you could find it on amazon.com or newegg.com as well as many others. Shop around for the best price if you want, it probably wont be on HP's website.

3) Yes tons. But again do you need an i7?

I've stayed at plenty of hotels while out on consulting gigs. The hotels I've dealt with all accepted mail for me. But do what Dunlop0078 suggested, tell them you're expecting a package, try to give them an estimated date of arrival, who will be delivering it, etc. The more information they have the less likely there will be any problems.

Lots of word, excel work. Photoshop and light video editing. My current laptop Ive had for about 6 years so I want the next one to last just as long so wanted to spend a bit more.

What alternatives are there?

more like a quad core. there are i5 with quad, and i7 only dual core.

Don't get too excited just yet, some outfits may not sell to foreign-issued credit cards.

And depends whether such vendor has facilities in Florida, you maybe hit with a sales tax 8-10%.

Then of course you are taking a risk with the warranty.
