Please help, is this worth buying for USD$512.00?

Let's look at this from he seller's point of view....

Marketing, stocking, shipping, store overhead & profit - $100
Packaging, advertising, manufacturer overhead and profit - $100
Windows - $100

Doesn't leave much for hardware

Marketing speak definitions

"Up to 6 hours of battery life" .... yea in sleep mode
4GB is light
500 GB HD is 5400 rpm

To my mind the entry point for a laptop that you will get unfettered use out of is about $800

Don't bother getting a touchscreen laptop. It's pricier and you'll likely never use it.

It will be fine for what you are wanting (assuming you are OK with very little battery life - you won't get anywhere near 6H watching movies over wifi.
